Bard Arts

Hi! My name is Ruby Kaya Bard, my pronouns are They/Them. I am Agender, Biromantic and Demisexual. I have Autism and ADHD giving me a special focus hard to find elsewhere and hard to control at times! I'm a professional freelance illustrator specializing in fashion, fantasy, zoological, and cryptozoological illustrations. I have worked on children's books and product/graphic design in the past and greatly enjoy both. I work in any medium but specialize in digital illustration and, watercolor mixed media. I am an avid fan of video games, dinosaurs, dragons, history, horses, and tabletop gaming, and am particularly fond of working on projects that support people in being themselves and loving one another. I have spent 3 years working in art education and love teaching and collaboratively working on projects with people.

 

When doing my personal work it is usually high fantasy themed as I'm a huge nerd who loves video games, tabletop games, and animals. I love drawing horses for fun and spend much of my time researching genetics and biology. I also have gotten into Palio art as of late, so lots of dinosaur research has been done. While doing any work I like to watch documentaries on history and biology, WWII and zoology being my favorites of those. 

 

Outside of my Illustrative pursuits, I like to write, knit, embroider, play with my rats, cuddle my bearded dragon and play tabletop and video games. I also love true crime, romance novels, and cooking. I run Bard Rattery and am an American Fancy Mouse and Rat Association member, where I breed rats for health and temperament. I have a service dog in training, A toy poodle named Universal Healthcare; we call her Uni. An average evening for me is work mixed with podcasts, cooking dinner for my partner, then some time relaxing and watching some M*A*S*H* before bed.
